I had to update Java this morning and I was in a hurry. I was just browsing the first page of this wizard, and I didn't pay much attention to. Spletne Then I remembered that it stated that it would install the Ask.com application. Grrr.
(Here's an image I took a few months ago)
I could have canceled it, but I decided to continue. After the installation, there was no sign that the extension had been installed. Chrome reported that the extension "Search App By Ask Version 2" was added after I restarted Chrome.
I did not enable it of course, and checked my search engine settings. Although ask.com was added, it wasn't set as my default engine. That's it!
I hate I hate that Oracle put a browser toolbar in the install of the Java runtime. I wonder how many kids who have installed Java to play Minecraft have this toolbar installed?
