Job Reference Number: UOS038659 Job Title: Power Electronics Design Engineer (KTP Associate) Contract Type: Fixed term for 18 months from start date Faculty: Faculty of Engineering Department: Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering Location: Libertine Holdings PLC, Unit 1, Coborn Avenue, Tinsley, Sheffield, S9 1DA Salary: £33,000 per annum Closing Date: 5th November 2023 Summary: The Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering is seeking to appoint a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate to work on the development of power electronics converters and control techniques for permanent magnet linear generators. As a KTP Associate, the successful candidate will be located at the offices of Libertine Holdings PLC based in Sheffield. The KTP Associate will be a highly motivated individual with a good understanding of electrical machines and electromagnetic devices, as well as excellent modelling and data analytic skills. They will work very closely with engineers from Libertine Holdings PLC. This will also include the implementation and documentation of the developed models and their validation on purpose-built prototypes, while also taking a lead role in the project, managing their own workload and ensuring a seamless technology transfer from the University of Sheffield to Libertine Holdings PLC. In addition, the post provides a £3,000 budget for personal and professional development for the successful candidate.
