A piece of writing in which the expression of feelings and ideas is given intensity by particular attention to diction (sometimes involving rhyme), sentence syntax, rhythm and imagery Mode - A text Type (e.g. Narrative) Purpose - The reason for which the text was made Sentence Syntax - The order in which words are placed in a sentence to form meaning. Texts - can be adapted (transformed) from one mode (text-type) to another
