According to people who frequent those who trade on market sites, concept is that First Monday Trade Days started way back in 1850. the circuit judge would drive to Canton on the First Monday of every month. Everyone from across the county came to Canton to attend to their court matters. In canton first monday , residents would bring their own items, whether it was produce, livestock and other pieces from their past, to trade or sell. In 1965 First Monday outgrew the town's Town Square so it was relocated to the present place. And that was the end of it...
