While Pensacola's population has been dropping for a while, it is still climbing at a steady rate, while Fort Lauderdale is stagnant. The population of Fort Lauderdale is now about three hundred million, but it is forecast to double in the next few years due to the number of individuals moving to the region so as to work in a variety of fields associated with tourism.

The city is split into many different neighborhoods, each with its own unique history, culture, and weather conditions. The southern part of the town is known as the"cesspool" because of the large number of bodies of water found there. This area is also popular for water sports activities, which makes it a popular location for tourists looking to check out the beaches. The northern part or the"green zone" of the city features more developed beaches and less populated areas, but it still has some fantastic sights to visit and wonderful restaurants to enjoy.
