1. Hey guys I'm back again. I finished reading the volume and wanted to share some thoughts and write a very loose summary of the points I found interesting in this volume to open discussion, again feel free to ask me questions and I'll try to elaborate as much as I can.

3. The new semester starts with kiyotaka walking to school with sudou and as they are talking about ike and shinohara about how far the both of them have gone, sudou asks if kiyotaka has ever been in a relationship and how it is since sudou has never been in one.

5. kiyotaka then replies saying that he has recently made one over spring break and reassures sudou that it isn't horikita, As he is about to answer who it is, kei comes up from behind them and starts pouting that she didnt hear that kiyotaka wasn't in the dorm to which kiyotaka says they didnt have any plans to walk to school together, this frustrates kei as she says that she was struggling to make up her mind at the last minute.

7. sudou gets angry and tells kei to back off as he and kiyotaka were in the middle of discussing something important. the conversation continues with kiyotaka asking kei if she was planning to reveal their relationship today and kei says shes trying to find the right time to bring it up.

9. kiyotaka ends saying she should bring it up like she did with yousuke and kei tells him that the situation from then is completely different.

11. sudou not being able to follow the conversation asks what they are talking about and as he trails off comes to the realisation that they were calling each other by their first names.

13. kiyotaka confirms that they are going out which leaves sudou bewildered as there wasn't much indication on when they got close.

15. They get to school and the explanation of the special exam as well as discussion about the culture festival happens, after class satou asks horikita and kiyotaka to come with her to the special annex as she wants to present an idea that and her and some other classmates came up with.

17. They then reach a seemingly empty classroom where maezono is out front and says that shes standing watch.

19. kiyotaka and horikita enter the room to be greeted by mi, satou and chiaki are dressed up as maids and they want to do a maid cafe for the festival. horikita then says that she approves of the idea and will put it into consideration, she then names kiyotaka as the general manager and to scout people he think will be best.

21. kiyotaka says someone like ike or hondou would be more fit for the task but horikita rejects him saying she doesnt want more people finding out.

24. they all have 60 seconds to vote if they reach a consensus and all vote on the same answer then they move into the next topic but if even one person disagrees there will be a 10 minute interval for the students to move around class and discuss to reach a unanimous decision and the process will repeat until the exam time is up (which is 5 hours).

26. if a student takes longer than 60 seconds to cast their vote they face a penalty but if they take over 90 seconds, that student then faces expulsion.

28. If a class clears all the 5 questions, the exam finishes and they gain 50 class points.
29. however if they are unable to clear the questions within the 5 hour time limit the class loses 300 points.

31. After the explanations are done haruka calls out to the ayanokoji group to have lunch and everyone agrees but then kei calls out to kiyotaka to have lunch with her. everyone noticing the abnormality then start staring at the two of them (except kouenji).

33. kiyotaka turns down haruka's invitation and says that he is going to have lunch with kei. haruka speaks up against kei asking her why she is butting in and kei retorts saying its not like kiyokata having lunch with the ayanokoji group is set in stone so its fine.

Haruka then slowly catches on that kiyotaka called her kei instead of karuizawa. kei adds on that as kiyotaka's girlfriend she has priority. and everyone gets hooked on that word and the class slowly starts showing expression of bewilderment to the point they dont go chasing after the two of them.

37. kiyotaka closes off by saying he wasn't expecting kei to take such a bold approach to the reveal.

39. As the days go on and with the increase of dates and seeing kiyotaka and kei together it starts becoming a regular thing so all the excitement that was originally there when the reveal happens starts to die down.

41. On a afternoon class, Haruka asks to walk home with kiyotaka and asks him straight if kiyotaka and kei are actually going out as she cant believe it and asks about their history.

43. kiyotaka recounts about the boat exam back in their first year and how him and kei were in the same group, he also adds on that they usually just text each other so thats why haruka hardly saw them talking and that after breaking up with yousuke, they decided to push the relationship forward.

After haruka kinda starts absorbing the info and connecting the dots about kiyotaka said on the recent island test about airi receiving mental shock at the poolside, she asked who confessed to who and kiyotaka answers that he asked kei out leaving haruka to lament the thought she had thinking airi still had a chance.

47. after being burnt out haruka tells kiyotaka that she is gonna head into the convenience store to cool off, meanwhile kiyotaka waits outside and receives a message from kei to meet up later at the mall.

As they are walking into the dorms together horikita gets into elevator alongside kiyotaka and kei and says she has some to discuss ayanokoji. kei leaves and horikita talks to kiyotaka about the exam, kiyotaka advises her saying that she probably wants him to vote completely opposite to her. horikita then retorts telling him not to read her thoughts implying thats what the conversation is for. near the end horikita tells kiyotaka to let her reply to a message on the phone otherwise the person on the other side may never respond to horikita again.

On another afternoon kiyotaka invites kei and yousuke to his room to talk about the exam and tells them to support horikita. he also makes it clear to yousuke that if theres only 2 hours remaining kiyotaka may take drastic action that will go against yousukes ideals to cement the idea into yousukes head so that he can be somewhat mentally resolved.

53. on the night before the test, kiyotaka gets a call from chairman sakiyanagi who wants to talk to him about the sports festival saying that he will do everything he can to ensure kiyotaka can stay in school as its incredibly likely that kiyotaka's father will show up.
54. the chairman suggests guards to which kiyotaka refuses as that will make him stand out even further, the next suggestion he has is to get kiyotaka to be absent from the sports festival altogether that way he can assign guards to the dorms and it'll be less unnatural.
55. kiyotaka gives it some thought as this could impact his classes' overall performance if he was absent and tells the chairman to let him think it over, the chairman agrees asking kiyotaka to come up with an answer the week before the sports festival.

57. around that same time kushida meets up with yagami and yagami mentions that he feels like kushida isnt fully committed to expelling ayanokoji or horikita anymore. after re-affirming her resolve she asks why yagami is fixated on kiyotaka and to that, yagami stays quiet. after their exchange, kushida vows to get rid of yagami after.

59. the day of the exam before it starts, airi asks kiyotaka if he has time after school because there was something she wanted to show him to which he says he is free.

61. The exam starts and Chabashira is shown to be quite weary as she constantly trails off or gets prompted by the examiners as she mediates the exam as the homeroom teacher.

63. (I forgot to mention but the questions get reflected based on the classes answers).

65. The first question is "during the 3rd time at the end of year exam which class would you like to face off against"
66. 1. Class A (win 100 class points)
67. 2. Class B (win 50 class points)
68. 3. Class D (win 0 points)
69. after one interval and the class all the discussing their opinions they unanimously vote for class B.

71. The Second question is "Please select one of these destinations as your class' school trip in November.

73. A. Hokkaido
74. B. Kyoto
75. C. Okinawa

77. After two intervals and deliberations ultimately, the class decides to play rock paper scissors to choose where to go on the school trip.
78. Things to note about this question, horikita admits that as current class leader she can't tell everyone to choose one location because it wouldnt be fair to everyone else. Another note, while it was mainly split between Hokkaido and Okinawa, Kiyotaka chose Kyoto.
79. As a result of the rock paper scissors, hokkaido was chosen as the destination for their school trip.

81. The Third question is a choice of 3 answers regarding private points given every month. Note the confiscated private points will continue for6 months after the current month.
82. A. In exchange for getting 0 points 3 students will be chosen at random to receive protection points.
83. B. In exchange for losing half of those private points you can nominate 1 student to give protection points to.
84. C. On the next written exams 5 students with the worst scores will get 0 private points.

86.  On their first interval kensei speaks up and says he wants to go with option B as the assumption is they could potentially win over 300 points with this exam, the cultural festival and sports festival along with the end of semester bonus points which persuades the class on what option to pick.
87. With the class agreeing on option B they move onto the next question.

89. Question four is " Please select which option you would like applied at the end of semester written tests"
90. A. Higher Difficulty
91. B. Increased Penalties
92. C. Reduced Rewards
93. After 3 intervals the class unanimously choose option B.

95. The Final Question is " By expelling one student the class will gain 100 points Yes or No (If everyone chooses to expel a student, another vote will take place in the same fashion as this exam)
96. This has everyone stumped and with the first vote the results are

101. everyone gradually gets angry seeing the results, Sudou yells at kouenji demanding to know which one he voted for to which koenji remains silent.
102. Horikita tells sudou to calm down as its only the first interval Horikita then reveals to the class that she had asked kiyotaka prior to pick the opposite choice which reassures sudou but the 2nd vote bought has the same results which puzzles horikita.

104. kiyotaka reveals that he voted disagree which horikita then realises that there are 2 people that actually agree to expelling someone for the sake of points.

106. the deliberation goes on and kouenji reveals that he is in fact one of the voters for agree stating that all they need to do is get rid of the useless student. sudou then shouts out asking kouenji what does he take his classmates for. kouenji replies by saying he thinks nothing of them.

108. Sudou then tells everyone that they should all agree and get kouenji expelled. kouenji reputes that saying that he can't get expelled as horikita has promised to protect him as part of their agreement from the recent island exam.
109. horikita then makes a proposal to kouenji if he agrees to follow her lead for the rest of the exam she will send him private points equivalent of 100 class points each month going forward and kouenji accepts the deal.

111. with that out of the way the votes become

115. without finding any headway kei asks horikita if she has an idea of who this person is and horikita says that she does but can't admit it so easily as there would be repercussions if she guessed wrong.
116. She then pleads at one of the intervals to the sole person that is voting agree that she is an ally to this person but the votes still stay

120. Kiyotaka decides to change his strategy and switch his vote and on the next bout the vote becomes

123. This starts putting the pressure on everyone and people start thinking they need to vote agree otherwise time will be up.

Kiyotaka decides to speak up and tells the class that he feels that no matter what the one opposing person will continually keep voting agree so while they still can should all vote to agree and bring down the person causing this chaos as he claims he can find out who it is. This gradually gets everyone to vote agree.

127. With that the vote to select someone to expel begins, yousuke starts off nominating himself to which he gets

131. kensei asks kiyotaka to reveal who the culprit is already but kiyotaka answers saying it wont go that easy.

133. At that moment kushida starts crying lamenting why it has come to this and that she regrets voting agree. she then says that horikita who is the leader of the class or kiyotaka who encouraged everyone to vote agree should take responsibility and nominate themselves to get expelled.

135. Kei jumps in and objects and says that she will never vote against kiyotaka and sudou saying the same against horikita but time runs out and horikita nominates herself before it gets picked at random.

139. Hearing the result kiyotaka finds it funny that 16 people dont think horikita is essential the class.

141. Kiyotaka proclaims that he will say the name of the culprit but if he is wrong he will nominate himself for expulsion as if its discovered he was wrong it wouldnt end with him just getting a bad reputation.

143. kushida asks if he'll be alright as she claims that she doesn't want to expel anyone including him.

145. kiyotaka thanks kushida for worrying about him and says he'll be fine.

147. the class then raises a fuss saying that theres no meaning if kei will vote in favour of kiyotaka but kiyotaka reassures everyone that that won't happen as he sternly looks at kei.

149. kei then angrily agrees but says she believes in him that it won't get into that situation.

151. kiyotaka proceeds to name kushida as the culprit which obviously leaves everyone bewildered and confused, kiyotaka then explains to everyone about kushida's true nature and horikita's involvement in kushida's motivation to get the two of them expelled.

153. everyone questions how kiyotaka knows and he replies by saying it was by chance that he found out. people then start commenting on how kiyotaka's demeanor changed and how he comes off more frightening when people though he was just a quiet person.

155. He tells everyone to recall back in the first year when there was another vote to expel a student where he was also targeted to get expelled, namely by yamaguchi and the one who helped him was kushida. and that this time is the circumstances are basically the same.
156. everyone then gets confused because they feel that if that was the case there would be other opportunities where kushida could of targeted him earlier but kiyotaka denies it and says its hard to expel people with how the school works and that originally, kushida thought of him as an ally

158. hondou shouts saying that kiyotaka needs to show proof and kiyotaka tells everyone how for a while now, he had been giving kushida private points and that he recorded the conversation which kushida cant easily deny cause if they check his phone it'll all come to light so she makes the excuse saying that she was holding onto them for him because he asked.

160. Kiyotaka then starts recounting the recorded conversation word for word using a similar tone which starts resonating with kushida causing her to break down.
161. she admits defeat but because the interval isnt over she starts blabbing about everyones secrets.

163. horikita watches this and thinks that this isn't okay and she deems kushida to be a valuble asset to the class and speaks up to defend kushida which kushida doesnt understand.
164. horikita rips into her saying all she sees is a fool and that although kushida has brains she tends to be very delusional but also supports her saying this is the first time she has felt this close to someone seeing her kushida stick to her convictions when horikita herself has always been indecisive with her true feelings.

166. Horikita then proposes to the class an idea but before she can say it out loud, kiyotaka picks up on what she wants to say and deems at the current moment that should be his role.
167. He tells everyone since they now cant come to consensus expelling kushida because of horikita that they need to nominate the weakest student in terms of overall ability, contribution but most importantly how they will develop in the future.

169. As he says this horikita looks at him pleading him not to do it with her eyes. He Nominates airi. Haruka strongly objects saying why is kiyotaka the one naming her and why dont they expel ike who is in a similar position.

171. kiyotaka then asks everyone to raise their hand, hypothetically speaking how  many people would vote for airi to be expelled the results are 3 people disagree.

173. he then asks the same question against ike and ike gets 11 hands in favour of not expelling ike.

175. kiyotaka then tells haruka that making friends is a powerful weapon and she is inferior to ike in that regard.
176. Haruka yells at him saying can he say that straight to her face and kiyotaka brutally says "is that all it will take?" haruka then screams at him to not do it.
177. Haruka then cries saying that she doesnt want to be a part of this class if airi isn't there.

Airi then speaks up saying "everyone please vote for me to get expelled" and she nominates herself for expulsion. and that if haruka were to vote in favour of her airi wouldnt be able to handle the guilt that she brought the whole class down and would leave of her own accord if that were to happen.

180. ultimately haruka agrees and the class unanimously vote for airi to be expelled. after the exams finish and everyone leaves (though akito ends up dragging haruka out of the classroom) horikita talks to kiyotaka about what just happened and how he shouldnt of been in that role since it means the ayanokoji groups bond has now become close to impossible to fix. Kiyotaka responds saying that they may not see it now but there will come a time where it's more convenient that way which leaves horikita puzzled and kiyotaka doesnt say anything further.

Sakura comes back to show kiyotaka her real face without the glasses and that of the idol persona she had built up. she tells kiyotaka to take care of haruka and as she runs out the door kiyotaka hears her trying to stop herself from crying which prompts kiyotaka to remember about the white room and seeing the same expression of regret that other members had as they realised that they were the losers in the facility.

184. Later chabashira calls kiyotaka and reminisces about how her exam went when she was in school, faced with the same choice she had continuously voted to disagree against getting her class leader from getting expelled who for her was, her best friend and lover.
185. this choice is what dropped her to class D and she has regretted the choice ever since. Kiyotaka theorises that had they not been consumed by greed of the 100 class points at the time and not be so fixated there still might of been a chance of them reaching class A.

Chabashira comments saying if they had someone like kiyotaka at the time they probably could of made it but quickly retracts that saying theres no point wishing to change the past. she then asks how many people kiyotaka has cast away in his life for him to make choice to cast out airi as that is something she feels she could never do. but quickly decides she doesnt want to hear the answer after all. she then vows as their homeroom teacher she will help the class get to class A

190. personal thoughts:
191. I really liked this volume, yes I was disappointed that kushida get expelled but I now wanna see if she'll become an asset to horikita. overall the volume was satisfying but Im definitely left feeling sad and kinda empty.

193. Lastly thank you for taking the time to read this if you got to the end, in future i probably wont do this again as it became a really big write up and so i might just revert back to dot points like last volume.
