  4.  Mount Kenya is the highest mountain in Kenya at a height of 17,058 ft. It is Africa's second highest mountain after Mount Kilimanjaro. This mountain is located in central Kenya and is about 180 kilometers North of Nairobi. It lies at an altitude of 3000m to 5200m. This exotic mountain is also a National Park and a UNESCO heritage site which covers an area of 715 square kilometers. Apart from climbing to the top of Mt. Kenya, climbers get to view wild animals such as elephants, antelopes, buffalo, giant forest hogs, Columbus and others monkeys. There are also different bird species recorded in this area. Climbing Mt Kenya is done in groups of not less than three people with the help of professional mountaineers.
  5.  Mt Kenya has three peaks namely Nelion (5188), Batian (5199m) and Lenana (4985m). While Lenana peak is accessible to many climbers, Nelion and Batian are only climbed by the experienced ones. There are three major routes to the summit namely; Sirimon, Chogoria and Naru Moru. Even though this big mountain is located on the equator, the glaciers are permanent all year-round. The three peaks are protected by both the glaciers and the cliffs. Mt. Kenya has great bio-diversity and beautiful scenery. It offers the most rewarding site at sunrise with views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and of Mt. Elgon.
  6.  Apart from climbing and facing challenges, you will have an opportunity to meet new people and also make friends. You will also get to gain self-confidence especially if you reach the highest peak. Climbers are advised to avoid climbing the mountain during the rainy season because it is very slippery and muddy too. All the three routes offer huts for accommodation. Every climber is accompanied by a porter and a guide therefore your luggage and security is well taken care of.
  7.  Mt. Longonot has a dormant crater and is situated South West of Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley. Longonot is derived from a Masai word Oloonong'onot meaning "mountains of many ridges." The Longonot peak is about 2780m high. Despite its height, it is very steep making climbers spend about five hours to reach its peak. This mountain is covered by shrubs and grass vegetation which provide food for wild animals such as zebras, giraffes and buffaloes. There is also a nearby Town named Longonot and, the satellite earth station is located south of this mountain.
